This was the first book that touched me on a fundamental level. I still carry that feeling around until this day. No other collection of stories has come close to leaving such a huge impression on me. Whenever I read these stories again, I reach a new level of understanding with each individual story.

There’s really nothing else I can say about this book, except maybe… everyone should read it. If you haven’t read it, you’re missing out on something grand. O’Brien is an amazing writer, his prose is gorgeous, and the things he write about get into you and they never leave.
