Definitely better than the first book, which isn’t that difficult an achievement.
There’s an interesting plot that came close to being convoluted. On the other hand, the characters seem to have found their personalities and the writing has established a non-annoying pattern. As for the central mystery, it was less convincing than the first book, but more fun to follow along.
Again with the tragically juvenile cover art. Whoever is responsible for choosing these covers must really hate this series.
